How does turning a country into the "Wild East" and making it a haven for terrorists qualify as "stabilizing" it?

If democracy in Iraq is working, why has the American government install;ed 3 prime ministers since the iraqi government's inception?
seriously, noone voted for Maliki. He was installed by the US gov.
How is that democracy?

Mimio we have lost 2500 american soldiers in Iraq in 4 years. We lost 50,000 troops in Vietnam in one year so the comparison of the two is irrational.
I would say that the successes from Saddams capture, millions of voting Iraqis, not one attack on American soil since 911, Zarqawi killed, reconstruction, regime out of power and trained Iraqi soldiers benefits the argument of success over failure any day.

garett, has mrdoboldodger answered any of your questions yet?

I made the Vietnam comparison(quite clearly) in relation to the idea that Bush's intention is to stabliza the Middle East with democractic/capitalist friendly governments. A plan that is not working in any estimation. I'm sure the train bombings in Spain and the UK had nothing to do with the Iraq war escalation. Who's in denial?

i wonder who is going to put most effort in writing the history books of tomorrow to fudge the reality of the today?

Success would be Afghanistan stabilizing and being a free society and the dissolving(not reforming) of the Taliban and Bin Laden's influence over region.

And is it so hard to understand that it sounds insane to suggest that things are going well in Iraq?

damn, I think I just got sucked in.
Time for a late lunch.
As you were – I'll check back in at post 200. Enjoy banging your heads against the PVN wall.

lets see...
50,000 divided by 7 years = 7,142 a year.
2500 divided by 4 years = 625 a year.
Case rested.

you're retarded. go look at the numbers on how Vietnam escalated.

Do you think that- maybe after the bush administration- maybe in 5 years? 10 years? Republicans will feel really embarrassed? Or just pretend that they never supported such idiots and their business endeavors?
- blastofv0
* clearly I got sucked right back in
Anyway, there's no way we'll get close to Vietnam totals. The comparison isn't really valid, but seriously, it's a mess over there. It's irrelevent why we're there. It's effed up, and it's getting worse. Keep on supporting it if you want, but 2500 dead americans for what?
And isn't this a design forum? Wouldn't this be a better experience if the political bs went away and never came back?
Now I'm really hungry.
