Is there a simple way of making a bitmap / jpeg etc. tinted so that no colour is on it other than gradations of the colur you specify? if that makes sense?

in photoshop you first change the image to grayscale and then image > duotone and choose your color(s)

the bitmap filter overlay looks ok in flash... but osme colour is coming through... prehaps I'll just desaturate a version of the image on when a user uploads to the database

Yeah so if you open Photoshop you can do what you want in various ways. Don’t let your conventions limit you. Rise about it engage become the idea you wish to be and when the physical is gone you never die the idea lives on. I hope this makes sense, from one visionary to another.

What are you trying to do exactly? Is there a reason why you wouldn't prep an alternate duotone image in Photoshop and import it in to Flash?
