flash sound linkage question

I've got a flash movie with a number of sound effects exported to actionscript.
The problem is if I export it to the first frame, there is a delay on slower connections before the first frame (preloader) appears.
If I select not to export them on the first frame, they don't load/play at all.
Anyone know what I could do?

yes....create an empty shell movie that contains only a preloader for your sound-heavy swf...only thing is you will have to go through and change all your albsolute paths to relative ones.

if you don't want an extra preloader.swf for this, you can
put an movieclip on stage where you put in all your stuff you want to attach from the lib. then check export, but uncheck export in first frame. put the mc with all the stuff in the third frame e.g. ..the stuff will be available when your movie reaches this frame... and all the heavy load is off the first...
..but i guess the preloader.swf is a better solution.. ;-)

thanks, they both seem like good solutions.
I've tried the preloader swf but the linked sounds don't seem to play unless I put them in preloader library, which defeats the point of having the preloader?
But maybe aXion's idea will do the job...

hi mtr... its a problem of the scope you have with the preloader... i had this before and found a solution (which wasn't that heavy;-)) ...
my poor brain can't think of it now.. but i'll post it here when i'm back home from work... if you havn't figured out till then...
