I'm thinking about buying a new mac with the intel chip. I have heard some stories that they run REALLY SLOW when running Adobe apps and FCP. Anyone have one that can approve or deny this myth?

i have a macbook pro. cs2 still runs faster than i does on my ibook 1.42 at home.
i just noticed today though that my kensington mouse scroll wheel won't work in safari. only works in ff.
unreal fast though. safari and firefox don't even take a full spinning wheel bounce to load.

oh yeh i never seen the spinning ball on my intel macbook pro.
every action is very fast.
dont listen to the kids that say their mac is slow, it is them who arent adept to speed itself.the puter is a fast machine.

Awesome. Thanks for the feedback.

just make sure you have at least 1 gb of ram. either buy it with that much or upgrade. it's a little cheaper if you upgrade yourself to 1 gig. it's a LOT cheaper to upgrade to 2 gigs.

we have a new imac at work with the updated fcp/studio at work and it's ridiculously fast encoding/rendering. i can only imagine what the new desktops will be like.
