My current web hosting company is absolutely irresponsible so i'm looking to switch. I have lots of small video clips on my server so i need large space and huge bandwith (preferably at a good price). Any recomendations?

you get what you pay for - if you can stretch to it, then
http://www.rackspace.com are just splendid. Super reliable, very professional, brilliant brilliant support that always gets it right first time, no matter day or night.
Not cheap, we shell out more for our server than my rent, but hey, you cant run sql databases out of your bathroom, can you ?
Thoroughly recommended.

Dreamhost is really climbing up on the hosting ladder.
I use them occasionally. Right now I am using http://www.indyhost.ca/ because they are a local hosting company and are offering me special deals because of this.
After my great deal is up with Indyhost, I'm probably going to switch back to Dreamhost.

http://www.icdsoft.com is the shizz. their prices just went up a smidge, but i'd still recommend them to everyone. lightning fast tech support, good value.

I'm going to join Eleven2 within couple of weeks after problems with email with Dreamhost, a friend of mine said it's prett good and cheap as well.

Someone told me that they searched for a domain name at GoDaddy and then the next day their domain name was registered by a company that is affiliated with GoDaddy. So maybe people should sign up right away if they search for a domain name they want instead of waiting a few days.

yep thats true Jaline, it happened to me while back, i'm still searching for one. The new one will be my 7th, how sad!

I use pair, but I have no idea if they're considered good

I need MSSQL and .NET 2.0 so I'm going with http://www.brinkster.com because I haven't found any hosting companies that support this that aren't an arm and a leg (without hosting myself... and in turn the arm and a leg thing comes into play again).

i use MT and Dreamhost. each is good, and has its own advantages.
if anyone wants to signup at dreamhost, use promo code: supersimple to get $90 off 1 year of hosting.

dreamhost doesn't even have customer phone number which means they want to handle everything by email, whih means they will go south at some point. My web host was "good" untill i needed some help then it turnd out how shity they raelly are. At this momnet i'm looking for someone with reliable customer service. My fuckers suspended my account 5 days ago and now after numerous phone calls and emails it's still down.

That's why I chose a local host. All of my inquiries are returned within a few hours, but obviously not everyone can be hosted by a smaller company like that.

do you know how much bandwidth you've been going through? How much you need? I know your hosting your film so your going to need a ton. Plus, are willing to spend the money? I think you can get what you need, just need the right people hosting it. What do you want to spend/month?

(Jul 5 06, 10:09)Plus with (mt), you can put a cool "hosted by: (media temple)" thing on all your pages.
