Can anyone recommend a good UK broadband provider for my MacBookPro? its for home use, and it seems a lot of providers don't support 10.4. Anyone offer any help?

my gf's old man just got a macbook pro hooked up with ntl.

how much are you willing to spend?
- Hue0
as usual, Im looking to spend as little as possible. I realise many of the packages come with USB modems that arent compatible with Intel Macs (well the drivers arent out yet)

'support' often means that they dont have people you can talk to about setup, or they provide some shitty USB modem that won't work, not necessarily that it wont work with a wireless router which is the way to go.
I've used bulldog, freedom2surf, toucan, demon and nildram previously on osx. Bulldog seem to have ironed out issues these days, at least if you are in London.

i heard bulldog were shit, are they worth going for? and just get myself an adsl modem?

I'm with Bulldog - it's not bad as rasko said if your in london. They also supply a free wireless router/or modem.
However, i received an email and letter the other week saying bulldog are no longer accept residential peeps.?! make of that what you will.

I steal it from the guy in the flat downstairs.

oddly enough I'm with BT. I pay a little more, but then I've never, ever had any problems... touch wood

which leads me to believe you maybe better off going for a wireless setup... rather than getting a modem that doesn't work. Any of them will work in theory.

bulldog broadband or bt then? and buy myself a good wireless setup? and get the provider to tell me all the codes and shit.
any good wireless set ups?
i just want to steal it from next door but its password protected! the bastards!

I use Zen through my BT phone line. £25/month 8MB, no 12 month contract. No problems so far.

hey guys, cheers for your input on the best broadband options. Think I am goign to go for Bulldog or look into Orange broadband. Just need to get myself a good wireless setup, any recommendations?

I've had Draytek, D-Link and Netgear wireless/ADSL/router modems, found netgear the easiest to setup (includijg doing stuf flike firewall/forwarding rules, dynamic DNS etc)... any D-Link, Netgear, Belkin is good
Just please please dont use a USB modem...someone should ban them.
