Where do you guys go for lunch? I'm trying to hit up the gym more and I'm attempting to eat healthy, but I'm on a designer's budget and need something quick.
Any suggestions?

make your own lunch. that's the cheapest and best way to save.

Oh, not only where do you go but what do you order?
List them...the healthier the better.
- CincodeMayo0
Yeah, I know. Making it is the cheapest, but everyone at my office leaves for lunch, and it's kinda nice to get away, even if it costs a few bucks.

Raw foods, Salads, multi-grain breads sandwiches.
Don't eat fast food.

i'll make a few things at home at the beginning of the week and bring it with, like a whole roast chicken and veggies that you can make sandwiches from, or a big pot of vegetarian chili, or stir fry stuff, etc..

veggie and bean burrito

Fast Food is for chumps.
I personally work through lunch so I can attempt to get out of the office earlier, especially when it's nice out, but occassionally I'll just pack up a few things of cut up fruit for a snack.
Bringing your own lunch is the way to go.
That way you can if you want just polly outside at a picnic bench somewhere tool, and not have to waste the time to go to a drive-through or stop in somewhere.

somewhere tool = somewhere cool.
// Freuduian slip, haha.

Brown bag it. Save money, and tastes better.

Chump or not, it gets me out of the office and clears my head. Luckily there are a number or places close enough to walk. It's not every day I eat fast food (client lunchs are always nice) but when it happens, what are the best choices to eat?
I bring this up cause Quiznos just got these flat bread salad things that are really good. But I can't find any nutrition info on their site so I'm wondering if they're good or not.

because of the season,
- grilled vegetable sandwiches w/ a soft cheese
- any type of pork
- hot thai noodle dishes
- empanadas

I've tried doing the home salad thing and premaking salads at the beginning of the week, but don't your veggies turn brown?
The problem with bring lunch is that at my office we never know what lunch is going to be like. Will I work through it? Are we going out on the office? Is a client taking us out? So when I make a lunch it usually sits in the fridge for days til I throw it out. So it comes down to a local place or fast food.

quiznos?
i think what they promote healthy won't be that healthy by my standard.

i usually do indian buffets....its quick, helathy and cheap...i guess it depends on your location too...always about 3-4 veggie dishes, and about 2-3 meats with a garlic flatbread...good eats
- CincodeMayo0
Yeah, the indian buffets are a good deal and usually good food. But too much equals bad stomach. Good every once in a while.
I always make a good dinner, healthy and tasty, but lunch is what throws my day off.
FYI, I'm in LA, so every other place is a mexican joint and as much as I love it, it's probably not a good idea to have it too often.

Packed lunch homes, I rock the packed lunch every day :D
I like the fact that I can put whatever I like in my pieces and you can experiment and screw around with foods.
Today I had ham and sald and balsamic vinegar, tasty times Buddies tasty times.
Tomorrow as a turn of pace I will be popping a couple of naughty sausages left over form tonights teat in my peice bow yeah boyeeeeeeeeeeeee. (and a snickers :E).

when on a budget, i make double decker tuna sandwiches with spicy mustard and a tomatoe - then throw an apple, or bar on the side

I go home for lunch 90% of the time, watch powerlunch, catch up on some emails, get away from corp. office and save money making my lunch. Great if you can do it.
