I'm helping out at a rock summerschool in a couple of month (teaching, tech stuff etc). The guys who help out are affectionately known as 'Monkey Boys'. I've said I'd design some t-shirts for us to wear (it's important students know who we are).
So far I've come up with a simple t-shirt using an Iron Maden-esque font. which will probably be ok:
Anyone got any more interesting ideas, preferably involving guitars and monkeys (I know, I know your dream brief!)
Needs to be vector and 1 colour, so no photos!
...as you were

must try harder.

amp dial that goes to 11

or just have the strapline...
"I am one louder"

I like the Spinal Tap "one louder" idea.
Still have to have the monkey boy text though. Anyone got any idea of better rock fonts. That maiden one is pretty bad

Surely two of the best bits of rock typography would be metallicas logotype andAC/DC
Why not parody that..sort of like 'monkey/boy'

or why not do one of those mirror type doodads

What about the pixies song 'Monkeys gone to heaven".
the other thing I always think about with Rock albums, especially 80's ones, was those "Parental advisory - explicit lyrics" stickers to plastered on everything

What about those 'chord fingering' graphics, that show the first dozen notes/chords to "Smoke on the water'
Infact, just write out.. "duh duh duuuuh, duh duh de duh, duh duh duhhhh, duh duh "

Thanks nosaj. But I've already said that it needs to say monkey boy clearly on it so these people can be identified easily. They are being printed in 1 colour, so no illustrations.
I've done a couple of simple black tees, with monkey boy in the AC/DC font which looks pretty neat.
