So this past week I got fed up with my bed sheets and blanket. It was a cheap Ikea one, so I went out and bought some great new sheets. The blanket, however, has been a problem. I like a real heavy fluffy blanket usually, but I decided to try one of those heavy but thin looking quilt blankets. I think the brand is Metropolitan. It's nice, er, it looks nice, but it's not too comfy. I returned it for another one, same style but different stitching (the first was a bit too floral for me and I didn't realize it til I unpacked it) and I'm still not stoked on it. I'm not looking to spend all that much (between $50 - $100). FYI, my new sheets are a butterscotch/dark khaki color, and I was thinking of doing a white/brown-chocolate comforter or blanket, possibly incorporating a light blue somewhere.
Help me out? Maybe I'm over thinking this...

those quilts are great you just need to wash it a couple of times. bit stiff when new. soft like vulva once washed.

Really? That may help it then...I have a queen bed but they only had the king quilt, so I got it...probably won't fit in the machines in my apt. Do you have it professionally done?

no i just throw it in the washer at home. i have a few but they're all queen size. take yours down to the local laundry mat - they usually have a great big industrial size washer.

i usually get a cheap king size comforter every season and stuff it in a queen size duvet- super fluffy!
that way, you can wash the duvet (easier than washing a heavy blanket!) and just toss/replace the comforter when it gets dirty.

Yeah, I had a duvet (although it was Ikea) and I could never get it even, and it was reallly thin. Maybe the more expensive ones are worth it. I've just always liked soft and fluffy. But I think the solid color quilts look pretty classy, so maybe it just needs a good wash.
