"Adieu Abu" would have probably been more appropriate.

I didn't read the rest of this thread, but the fact that there's a speech bubble with the phrase "Warm Up The Virgins" in it is hilarious.
Nothing funny about showcasing dead people...

Lauren, are you going back to school?

jevad, its not the pic that is the problem. most papers are going to run that pic. the thought bubble is ridiculous though. my goodness.
i remember a few years ago, the boston herald (which is the equivalent of the post here) ran a pic on the cover of the face a man that was burned alive. his office complex caught on fire and when the fire department came, they found like three people right at the front door. they just missed escaping. then the herald runs this pic that pretty much rubbed the families face in it.

As I was walknig to watch the World Cup game today I saw the front page of the Denver paper had the same pic

none of you are in charge
none of you will make a difference
therefore this thread is worthlessif you want to see asscrack, nipple, the word fuck or a severed head, i suggest you use limewire
the paper is full of lies whether you agree with the printed word or not

"propaganda war ensemble burial to be
corses rotting in the night in blood-laced misery
sport the war!"-slayer

Being a New Yorker, I can also confirm that the talk bubble is real...but I don't get it. Can someone enlighten me...am I missing something?

I thought they were everywhere, but they are far less sensationalistic than The Post and it's twin bastard the Daily News.
- cafloppy0
CyBrainX,
Are you suggesting that AM New York or NY Metro are better? Why? Just because they aren't so tasteless in their editorializing and captions doesn't mean they present the news in any more accurate a light.
And besides, you can't get those papers in many sections of the outer-boroughs and therefore most people can't read them on their commute into the city.

What i really like is the fact that the same folks who told us there were WMDs in Iraq are now telling us now that everything is going to be great now that al-Zaq is gone...
ha!!!!
- prodigalslacker0
remember when americans threw a shit fit when iraqis dragged two corpses through the street, burned alive, and hung them from a bridge?
this isn't much different. dude was a terrorist, and yeah, i'm glad he's gone, but smothering his face everywhere isn't going to change anything. he's dead. move on. we're still at war.

That bubble with "Warm up the Virgins" was NOT added on. It's the real thing. Just as real as when one person got non-terrorist anthrax in Florida and the Post's headline printed "OUTBREAK!".
Being cheaper than the Times is no excuse. Get AM New York or NY Metro for free.
What would the Post say if Al Jezeera showed an American corpse with a bubble that read "Where's Jesus?"
- Lo-Fi0
Same pic was on the front of metro this morning.

the post is a rag indeed. its like a better version of star magazine

The Post, if for no other reason, is pure comedy. It's also cheaper and more convenient to read on the trains than the NY Times and other more legit papers, so it would be unfair to simply fault those buying it for the "stupidification" of the public.

(Jun 9 06, 06:48)The US version of The Sun then...sans any actual humour or tits on page 3
- cafloppy0
I was just giving a long-winded response to SLAZ who tought that being able to show asscracks, tits, and say curse-words constitutes censorship.

I choose not to recognise the Sun as a paper. But I don't think they would get away with it.
- jevad0
