apparently he's been killed in Iraq.
Also, what's going on in london? There appears to be lot so of traffic this morning and someone's just phoned in my office to say they'll be late and it looks like a bomb attempt. Any confirmations?

Good (not to the London stuff)

// I thought he was a really nice guy

ok, the guy who phoned in is italian and was trying to make a joke. didn't work though. Apparently just bad traffic.
the al zarqawi thing got me thinking, sorry for the false alarm!
- determinedmoth0
That italian sounds like a right bundle of laughs :/
- determinedmoth0
i'm not sure that al-Zarqawi being dead is going to change anything.
- Baskerville0
he's always trying to make jokes. So if he's being serious it's hard to tell. His actual words were:
"it looks as a bomb attempt"
still at least he tries to add some humour to an otherwise dull studio.

I don't think it will change anything either. Anyway, what happened to Osama, I've not heard any mention of him for years!
It might make al qaeda a bit more pissed off. so good news all round//
- determinedmoth0
Are you coming to the drinks Baskerville?
- Baskerville0
when are they? I always see those threads and due to the number of posts assume that they're already been and everyone is reminiscing.
- kelpie0
probably won't change much, but if you saw him sawing the head off that american guy, you'd be pretty happy he was in the ground.
might leave a troublesome power vacuum.

Oooooh. they got the bogeyman. Set them up, knock them down. Bravo.
- chameleonic0
the last thing the US administration wants is the war to end. this is total war. So they got rid of him, he was just a figurehead with no real influence - just someone for the US to point fingers at. just like the 'Al Queda' myth. creating enemies in order to pretend to have a reason for war. war makes money, keep the economy healthy.
Expect to see many many more wars coming to your TV screen soon.

I think thats an overly cynical view of the whole thing to be honest. partly true but not wholly true.
Thing that really bugs me is that I have just heard GW's speach to the press on the radio, and it sounds like the concluding speach from a Bruce Willis action blockbuster, all self congratulatory grandstanding when nothing has significantly moved forward.
- skt0
Shut up kelpie. He's a hero now.
- chameleonic0
yeah, I know that was an overly pessimistic and simplified view, but was just my gut reaction to the news this morning. I just thought 'so what'? It's not like the place will chill out and no more shia vs sunni vs invaders fighting.
yeah. Bushy baby has a habbit of doing that. mission accompli...
- benfal990
al qaeda doesnt exist anyways. Osama either.

ist all CG

Is that "kuz" guy conveniently back in the motherland again? Hmmm.

"al-Zarqawi has met his end.
this vicious man will not murder again."
~Pres. G.W. Bush----
sounds like W's been reading dr.suess again.
"...he will not murder in a tree.
he will not murder, can't you see?"
- kelpie0
what are you on about bombadil?
