I said I "may" allow it, I didn't say I wouldn't bitch about it for half an hour though.Yes rand. Bar staff these days in London are all hapless foreigners who don't get any decent training. You ask for a G&T, and they ask if you want ice like it's bloody optional. You ask for a Malt Scotch, and THEY COMMIT SIN! THEY PUT THE ICE IN ANYWAY! NO QUESTIONS ASKED!
Then people want to TIP them!
The bloody dogs!
This country.....
Balls...

My punk bitch freind toady poured a rum and coke down my leg when it was in plaster once and when it cut cut off three months later it was manky as all hell. Still like the rummy though.
Is rum sometimes called cola wine?.

I can't believe anyone would serve a rum and coke without ice or lemon or lime?
Rand
(Jun 5 06, 05:51)there are still some very dark places in this world.

Rum and coke should not be served in a tall glass, although I assume you are talking about Gin and Tonic.
The Rum should be dark, preferably Mount Gay, poured over plenty ice, three slices of lime, squeezed in and then added, topped up with coke that has been left open for a while so it isn't too fizzy.
Best rum and coke in London.

sorry for the ignorance. I don't like liquor mixed with carbonated sweetened beverages in general.

how can there be such a thing as a "best" rum and coke? Isn't it just rum mixed with coke?
Rand
(Jun 5 06, 05:39)Spoken like a true american.
There is as much margin for error in "just" a rum and coke, as there is in a gin and tonic.
The glass had better not be steaming hot.
There must be plenty of ice.
It must be a TALL glass.
It must have lime, or I may allow lemon.
The measure must be large and generous, regardless of what the law says.
"Would you like Ice?" is not a viable question. It's a fucking stupid one.
I could go on Rand.

i vote for cafe kick as well. the big one, though, on shoreditch high street. skt's right that the exmouth market one is too small. although, judging from previous turnouts at these things, it may well not be.
you can probably even reserve a table or an area or something.
and rand, you have to have one to understand how it is the best rum and coke ever. i think it's do do with optical physics.

I'm not sure there is such a thing as football on in the background when it's the world cup. Not round my way anyway.

- skt0
it's more your neck of the woods than mine these days skt, where would you reckon for a decent boozer that will have the football on in the background?
