i'm running a PC and a MAC on one big flat screen. I going to be switching back and forth from each machine. Would it be better to install virtual PC and bog one machine down with all the programs or is there a way I can have a single keyboard and mouse hooked up to both with a switch or something.....

you know you can run M$ on an intel Mac now, right?
if don't have that type, just get a KVM and switch between the two w/ flick of a switch....
many better solutions out there than running Virtual PC.

The I.T. guy here is running 3 machines through one monitor (2 desktops and a laptop). He's using a switch hooked into each machine. However, it looks as if he has 2 keyboards on his desk.
Both are wireless though and he moves them out of the way when needed.
Want to to take a gander at what brand of a switch he's using?

Not sure which one would suit you.

(May 22 06, 10:17)mucho gracias' does that switch control the mouse and keyboard or just the monitor, because my monitor has a switch built in, so i just need something to handle the keyboard and mouse.

since Mac and PC both support USB keyboard and mouse, i picked up a USB switch from newegg.com. I use the apple keyboard and my wacom on poth machines and just change inputs on the front of teh monitor. I have 2 20" dell LCD, they have a dvi and VGA input on them so i use the DVI for the MAC and VGA for my PC. Works out great for me.

dont forget you can also use MS Remote Desktop Connection to work on your PC from the Mac as a remote session, both locally and remotely... I often use that rather than moving 2 feet over to my PC... or Apple Remote Desktop.
