I'm looking to hook up my mixer (DJ) to my iMac.
I've got one of these:
http://www.rolandus.com/products…I'm all set to go. What would be a good recording application to use to actually record the audio?
Free would be nice, but I don't mind spending a few £'s if I have to.
Would garageband do the job?

Garageband will do it, but that's a sequencer. You're going to want something along the lines of:
Amadeus II
Audacity
AudioSlicer
BIAS Peak
Cacophony
DSP-Quattro
Jasmine
MP3 Trimmer
PlayerPRO
SndSampler
SoundHack
Sound Sculptor II
Sound Studio
SoundTrack
Spark XL
Wave Editor

I run Windows for work and use PC software to edit audio at home too.
I use Sony Sound Forge and have for about 8years. Very nice to record and edit audio.
From what I hear Logic has it's own audio editing plug-ins and it's a good sequencer for Mac.
Pro Tools, etc.
