Yep, Seanbot said it. If you don't get to go there for real cheap well then for the love of god don't go!
Very very subpar.

hey seven.. i didn't start college until I was 23 either (money)...
... on the other hand - my mom's 55 and finished her degree about 5 years ago... so don't evenTHINK about your age... just do what you want to do, dude... and don't look at college as a time to fuck around either - you're 23... too late kinda... the fucking around happens from 18-22 or so... if you go and start fucking around - THEN you'll be 'behind'... so don't do it...
... oh and this is AWESOME advice:
"3. Going to a normal college gets you away from the art freeks, 90% of kids at art schools are just crazy art kids that think they are so smart and deep. Going to a normal college gives you a broader range of people and alows you to take other classes in other disaplines. Buisness, Computer Sciences, blah blah."
'Art Fags' as they were DROVE ME INSANE in school - bunch of 'deep' wanna-be intellectuals trying to show how meaningful they are (whatever)...
:)
have fun no matter what!!!!!!!!!

the assistant creative director at my job went to UT. she took a position as a hall monitor on campus which afforded her free room and they paid her. there are always options to explore.
also .. i'd check with the students. ask them how they feel about their teacher's abilities. if the teachers are crap the school is crap. fluxuates quite a bit.
most art institutes are a rip off. i think the one in chicago is good though. there may be others (seattle?).

the one in chicago isn't "one" (AI affiliate...)
they're not allowed to use "art institute of" in chicago, because the real AIC is older (and one of the best art schools in the country).

I had a great experience in art school, Real practicing artists and designers teaching and none of the distraction of the state college(that I went to straight out of high school.
As for these commmercial art institutes, Not recommended. Take art classes in junior college. easy to get A's, then transefer on a scholorship. Trust me, I had a 2.3 gpa in high school and a 3.7 by the time I graduated w/ my BFA.
