I'm barely familiar with javascript, only know enough to get myself by. The problem I'm having is, rather than using the target="_blank", I'd like to have my js popups resize within the same window to view a PDF file. If I go target="_self" then it remains within the confines of my popup size. How do I get it to resize upon clicking? Thanks in advance.

give your window a name without an underscore?
ie.. target="mywindowname"
then you can refer to it in your javascript by name.
kinda simple solution, so i dunno if thats what you are asking

I'm no expert but
self.resizeTo(width,height)
may help.

self.resizeTo(width, height)
resizes to given outer popup size, rather than inner size dimmensions. , as opposed to
window.open()Because of popup window chrome being different across browser/system/user prefs, you don't really have precise control over size.
Closing the popup and reopening it usually does the trick.
