We ran this in one of our newspapers today, now that's what I'm talking about.
------------------------Contractor accused of transporting illegal aliens
FARGO, ND (AP) - Federal officials have charged the owner of an Indiana company that performs stucco work at construction sites in Wisconsin and other Midwestern states, accusing him of transporting and hiring illegal aliens.
Robert Adrian Porcisanu, 28, a Romanian citizen, and his Franklin, Ind., business, Stucco Design Inc., were named in a 12-count criminal indictment unsealed Monday in the District of North Dakota.
According to the indictment, Porcisanu and his company undercut the bids of competitors and won contracts to perform stucco-related work by using illegal workers to reduce labor costs.
He is accused of arranging to transport his illegal employees to construction sites in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin and of paying for them to stay at nearby hotel rooms.
Porcisanu, a citizen of Romania, also known as Iulian Jijie, faces three counts of money laundering, two counts of making false statements and several other charges, including conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens and conspiracy to transport illegal aliens.
He plans to plead not guilty when he is arraigned in Fargo, N.D., his attorney Robert Ratliff said. Immigration officials originally detained Porcisanu in March because of his immigration status, Ratliff said.
Porcisanu is in the custody of federal marshals in the Fargo area.
The indictment also alleges that he did not pay his illegal workers overtime and did not withhold state and federal taxes or Social Security taxes.
If convicted on all the counts, he faces as many as 40 years in prison. The government also seeks the forfeiture of the proceeds of Porcisanu’s illegal business activity, about $1.5 million.

are the illegals still here?
wtf.
wasn't anything accomplished this past week?
- mrdobolina0
That romanian guy could potentially get 40 years for employing illegals. These types of penalties are what is going to curb illegal immigration, not barbed wire.
- k0na_an0k0
want to talk about it over some burritos?
- mrdobolina0
sure, make mine the lengua.
- k0na_an0k0
does lengua mean 'made by an illegal alien?'
if so i don't think we can be friends.

If you're going to enter a swing dance contest, it would be to your benefit to learn how to swing dance instead of coming into the swing dance and making them bend the rules so you can dance salsa while everyone else is dancing swing.
(I'm talking about learning English here people)

(May 1 06, 12:34)This is a good point.
Another issue is the fact that people want to preserve their language WHILE wanting to belong in a country where there is more freedom.
In the future, there will be less than half the amount of languages we have now because of the need to conform with some, especially English. This is also for religious groups.
I don't know...is it better to have a variety? I think so.

there is just so many varying opinions about this, so there won't be a solution anytime soon.
I guess it's good that it's being discussed.
