LMAO, maybe I'm just tired, but something about the words "Dinosaur Shocker" as the page title there is just too funny.
I stopped to think "gigantic hand performing the shocker?" or "a male T-Rex performing it on his female companion, claws and all."

'But when creationists misrepresent Schweitzer’s data, she takes it personally: she describes herself as “a complete and total Christian.” '
Does each and every scientific note in America really need to get hijacked by the religionists?
What does it say about a society where a researcher feels compelled to state the intent of her beliefs to protect the sanctity of her work?

Nairn,
Some scientific discoveries have profound implications. It's not a matter of hyjacking anything. If soft tissue has been found in T-Rex remains, then there is reason to suggest that the remains are not as old as we once thought. That's all.

flagellum is only partly right, but just coming to a conclusion so fast is dangerous in science. other reasons may be found for the soft tissue to survive.
anyway, very cool story, i recommend you all to read it to the end.

Well, if we're jumping to conclusions..

One thing that grates about Religionist posturing is the innate assumption that Science has already found all the answers - is already upon the plateau of discovery, and therefore in possession of all knowledge required to make these leapt-to conclusions.
This is a human arrogance, borne of a couple of hundred years of emergent social and technological profligacy - but one, in reality, unable to assume very much at all about our world.
Frankly, How Dare We make any assumptions? We are but babies, shuffling around the skirting boards of understanding.
