I am going to Las Vegas tomorrow for one week.
I will need to do work whilst I am there on a laptop.
Therefore...
Do I go to Regent Street and buy it
or
get it from apple in Vegas
and have £450 for the tables...
Your thoughts please...
For some reason I am tempted to go to Regent St

What about the power transformer output gubbins?

Karlo, I have no idea. My suggestion would be don't buy a laptop and have the mindset you are going to win big and never work again, heh.
As far as laptops go, is it better to have it plugged in all the time or to let the battery run out once in awhile?
I tend to keep mine plugged in but I'm wondering if I'm killing the battery in the process...

I have been told to remove the battery when it is plugged in...
I reckon the boys in the apple store will know about transformers etc
Also you can buy a world adapter for $39.99 so about 20 odd quid - still saving me loads of money!!!
Very excited
How sad am I!!!

Vegas it is then. Put a tenner on black for me.

apple sells adapters that plug into the removable bit on the power brick.
and leaving your laptop plugged in all the time will quickly kill your battery. i have one i specifically use when i'm at home and plugged in, and another i charge up to full and save for travel.

my (american) powerbook works just fine over here (uk), and i don't even have a proper apple world adapter or whatever, just the kind that you get for any appliance. someone told me that was okay. someone who i think is mostly trustworthy when it comes to questions of an electronic nature.

you are right para, the power brick itself will work anywhere with any adapter... just the apple ones fit into the brick itself all sexy-like.
- paraselene0
sexy is a luxury.
- acescence0
well, also more functional in that the brick kept falling out of the adapter i had when it was plugged horizontally into a wall.. won't happen with these.

as you said that a little thought bubble appeared above my head with an animated gif inside of it depicting that precise situation. i know it well, i see it every day.
