is there a program that can print your 3d objects, so you just have to glue it together afterwards.
thanks!

folding templates?

hmm, ye, that might be it. it should print it out flat(ofcourse) and then give every peace a number, so i can glue the whole thing together to the 3d object.

why don't you have the file prototyped, could be costly (depending on output size), but you have a solid object to examine
email them a dxf object and they can quote your production cost

i havent got the time nor the money :D it would be far better for me to print it..

understood,
they'd have it done in 2 days so time isn't a factor but I can see where cost would become one
I saw some of what you are referring to used in an automobile engine mock up so they could see internal cavaties
but i know of no software available to the public that will do such a thing

well, thanks anyway..

Look into the texturing options. You can 'unfold' the object to make it 2D, save out, then open in Photoshop to create the textures.
I dont' know about numbers, though, nor do I know how exact it will be for physical construction. Max was not made for this type of thing.
Look into FormZ or programs like Rhino, SolidWorks, etc., that are geared towards physical production.
