hello
im 21 and currently a graphic designer from KL.i received offers from parsons paris and UNSW sydney. am currently indecisive over these two. i applied for BFA programme. UNSW offered me 1 and a half year after reviewing my portfolio (tuition fee 19300AUD p.a) , and parsons accepted me as a Junior Year student, duration 2 years but with 2000 euro off per year (tuition fee 19300euro p.a)
I have not been to both cities. sydney is definitely cheaper (tuition fee, living cost) and less hassle. Paris seems more interesting but housing is not easy and expenses are higher. I can speak basic french and excellent english.
what do u think?

Do you want beach, sun and BBQs, or a bit of culture, mainly gray and drizzly weather, and snotty french chicks.
Your call - I know I'd be on the place to Sydney asap.

Did you not have much success with "French chicks", jevad?

; )

Well, the graphic design scene in AU is pretty kick-ass and a bit more international. I've seen more and more good studios coming out of Melbourne and Sydney over the past few years...

the letterbox - founded by stephen banham, a lecturer in melbourne.

The environment or scene is more prestigious in Paris with its history but you will love Sydney. UNSW COFA (College of Fine Arts) is in the heart of the posh Eastern Suburbs. Just down the road and around are designer stores, clubs (Oxford Street). The degree is very good and you can only expect the best.

A good design scene, yes but Sydney still has yet to go. In a designer environment, we would say its good but talking to normal people, its a bt different compared to Europe.

I'm packing my bags right now...

I've been living and working in sydney for the past 7 months. I don't know about the university course but the scene here seems to be good but culturally I don't think sydney is that advanced as it is still quite a new city compared to paris. Lots of good stuff going on tho, check http://www.australianinfront.com… for a general overview
good luck!

I was with 3 Aussies last night and they all say Melbourne is much better than Sydney, 1 from Melbourne and 2 from Sydney...
