one thing that you must know, never go out during rush hour, it can take you as much as 45 minutes for a 5 minute section just bc of the traffic.

I just got back from Austin. I LOVE it. Good food, (hit up Curras and Maria's for awesome breakfast tacos), about a billion completely beautiful swimming holes (Hamilton Pool, Barton Springs, etc.), great music, BBQ, really progressive eco-living, and healthy food options. I live in Brooklyn and am as jaded as they come, but I'll be in Austin by the time I'm 30. look out.
P.S. DO NOT keep Sprint if they are your cell provider. My phone was always roming down there.

Check out austinssc.com for cool co-ed rec/beer sports leagues. It's my roomates company. He just started it in Sept. and we've got a 36 team kickball league starting in two weeks. Lot of fun, great way to meet people. Couple Ad and PR agencies have teams in it. Good networking opps.
Internet -- Don't use Grande. They suck.
Email if you have any questions
Austin is a great city.

Just read some more posts from this. Agencies that have played in the league:
GSD&M has 3 teams in kickball and had 2 in softball. NFusion had a softball team. Couple people from Porter Novelli played football.
Just throwing that out. Good luck.
