Wow. Well it's been nealry two years since I posted here but I need some help.
Short story: Been in design for years and years. This is me:
http://www.vinneywhite.co.uk/Got bored, went round the world:
http://www.vinneywhite.co.uk/tra…Got a job. Got bored again, fell in love with a canadian girl. Will never get bored of her:
Need to move to Canada in Sept. (she is here in the UK right now and she has to leave then and I want to go with her) Done the forms for a skilled worker, process time 36 months - hmmm. So here's the question:
I have a stunning CV and huge drive: I want a job in Ontario, and I am willing to do anything to get it. I want to leave in late summer and go back with her (she has to be back in Canada for a year): Can you advise my sorry ass?
CAN YOU HELP?

What's the Question? Sounds like you are in the process of doing it no?

is she moving to Ottawa? I would go to Toronto right now
- Vinney20
Good q canuck, well its like this:
there are no temporary working visas for Canada availbale for UK residents till late 2007. I want to work there this winer and the form I have in place wont allow me to do that - untill processed in 36 months (2009!) so:
I can work there this winter if I find the job, and they write to the immigration board saying we want that man. Problem is apart from the web I dont know anyone in media (or anyone who can offer me an OK job) in canada and this game is all about who you know. I think what I am saying is, does anyone know where I would be likely to be offered a job as a foreign worker. A big company that recruit internationally, in Ontario. And does anyonr know any of the people in that comapny?

Derek: Yes, she has one more year of study in Ottawa, She must - so I must at least move to Ontario.

if your portfolio is good then you can explain your situation to prospective employers and they can perhaps hire you as a "contractor" (under the table), until your papers work out.

if you really want to, you can pay an attorney to do it for you. here's who i used and he was great!

as far as jobs go, for interactive, reply to the posts in the NT jobboard from Grip and Blast Radius.. (I haven't seen your book but imagine your good) another place to look around is www.multimediator.com (in betaville forums/job board) There's a lot of web work in Toronto, canada is I think the most wired nation in the world per capita..
if you know development as well as design I know some people who are looking for that too..

There were a handful of studios listed in and around Ottawa in this thread:
