copypaste:
What you should know about scripts:
Only Illustrator 10 and above can be automated with scripts
There are three types of scripting-languages: AppleScript (Mac only), VisualBasic (PC only) and JavaScript (Mac and PC)
To install new scripts you have to quit Illustrator and copy the files into the subfolder scripts of the folder presets in the Illustrator program folder. After restarting Illustrator you can find the scripts in the menu file » scripts ...
You can create subfolders in the scripts folder to organize your scripts
All my scripts are written in JavaScript, so they (should) work either on Mac and PC. The scripts are made for two languages (english/german) while english is the default. Every script has a brief description inside. You only have to open the file in a text editor (Notepad/Simpletext). Because of my bad english I’m glad about any corrections. Also if you have modified the scripts or if you have some questions it would be nice if you get in contact with me. My email-address is in the scripts.

yup.
some of these can save you loads of time or simplify complex tasks.
others can bring really awesome effects.

should have known the "remove all overprints" script last week, that would have saved me at least half a day
