seeing the upso and jemma update announcement, and already thinking about a current relationship i am in with a "creative" (one not going so well)
what do you guys think ? obviously it depends on the 2 involved, but I can't seem to decide if its destined to always fail innately or not
thoughts ?
(sorry for long post)

I was married to another designer, past-tense being the key here..
I think it can work, just not in my case, but that has more to do with me being a pile of cunt than anything...
If I had to do it again, it would definitely be with a photographer or a writer and not another designer, sometimes it gets too competitive...

The perfect situation is likely one copywriter and one artist and neither has a clue about what the other does.
And one of them must eat cereal with water, not milk, and the other must prefer pulp-free orange juice.
All else is just fodder for debate.

I like their updates

My girlfriend and I both work as graphic designers, but I think it works out so well between us, because we leave work at work.

Do you two adjust your tracking when lying on the couch?
- winter0
the only trouble I see is the possibility of you having a doll and buying a baby for it.

my gf is a copywriter, i'm a designer... she's awesome. def. my favourite person in the whole world.
Though we have some ups and downs, I still can't wait to buy her a ring (gag, i know).
it's all about perspective and making sure you plow through the tough times knowing you care about eachother – regardless of what you do.that being said, it helps if they understand long hours, etc.
- mg330
That's awesome Gucci.

hahahaa
was just imaging that ITE ad being me and my gf or some other "creative" couple
but really, these stories are inspring cause i think it just comes down to the 2 involved, but she thinks designers maybe just can't make it work

you need to have stuff in common. Work maybe shouldnt be one of those things because you do need to leave it at the office.
but if you keep your bitching to a minimum then you'll be fine.

what a horrible fucking idea

people have strange ways of saying they're not that into you
- versa0
ouch

sorry. it just sounds like a lame excuse. unless there are huge egos involved.

i met my wife a few years ago when I only knew she was a cute artworker/visualiser from Japan. During our first couple of dates we never spoke about design or work, we were just two people falling in love.
Right now I don't tell her how to do her work but I will tell her what I think of it and let her solve those problems herself unless she asks for my help. It's not easy being a husband and a design critic. The same applies probably for florists, hairdressers and chefs.
I love my wife for how and who she is, not what she does.
