whilst we're on the subject - any budget mike recommendations?
for ..ahh.. 'beat boxing'
*cough

1. buy a decent micropohone
2. make sure your sound card functions
3. get some software that records it (obviously some mac-based shit)
4. mix and match using some sort of editor (could be the same software you use to record it)
5. Maximie the waveform of the recording
6. Sequence within a sequencer with other tracks
7. Be Happy with it
8. Export
9. Voila

you obviously have a mic in ur pbook, so install the software
audacity
to be found on sourceforge, and you're almost there

audacity is an awesome little free app for osX.
Once installed go into your system preferences under audio and make sure your audio input is set to internal mic or line if you hook up an external mic or usb or whatever.
If you have garage band you can use it to record as well... but i would go with audacity.
good luck!

I picked up one of these and love it:
http://www.audio-technica.com/cm…It needs phantom power so you'll need to pick up a little mixer to power it but the quality is great for the price.
