hi
im not sure if anyone can help me on this..
bought a 2.5 hd and an external case separate.
when i plug everything together the hd makes this clicking sound, it doesn't sound right, and nothing is showing up.
im grusfrated

yeah ... I wouldn't trust my work on a hard drive that makes funky noises.

is it the proper case for that type of hard drive? i know it may be a dumb question but you didn't give us too much info to go on. yes normally a clicking sound is bad, but it could also be the type of connection because it may be drawing different types of current thus not allowing the drive to work properly.....or you're just hosed but that just means you take it back.
if you want a good external setup, get a external from western digital, solid products.
