I went for Ribs in Tupelo and the waitress went nuts over my accent. Hers was pretty hot too. You dont come accross many Southerners in the UK - I get the impression they dont like leaving their own back yards so all the American accents we get to hear are the rubbish ones like those on Friends or ER etc...
The Southern accent is the business though. Me and that waitress couldn't get enough of one another.

ignore this man moth, he's clearly a moron and has no penis.

most everybody who has a southern accent and travels at all tends to get rid of it pretty quickly because people (especially here) are even more prejudiced and bigoted against americans from the deep south than americans in general.

True, chossy. I'm not comfortable with saying cunt out loud and I know most of the people I know wouldn't be comfortable either. But we're fine with saying some other things.....HOSER.

(Mar 20 06, 06:42)I remember reading something about the Southern vernacular and its similarities to 'Victorian Day' English. I suppose you could say it came here and never left or evolved in the way that modern English is spoken in the UK? not so sure
