The most tired question:
Nowdays LCD panels are worth of buying? Which are the best, and for the same price is better a CRT or a LCD?Here we're going to buy a new display for graphics/web, for a PC. An Apple cinema will work on it? And apart Apple what would be a good choice for a LCD? (Time ago there was a link to a comparsion page between apple cinema and a Dell display, but can't find it).

Mate of mine is an IT bod at an agency and they have just bought a load of Formac LCD (they no longer build CRT's). I questioned him about the colour comparisions and he stated that why would a leading monitor/hardware manufacturer stop doing CRT's if they did not believe they were producing the same colour quailty in LCD's.

In terms of colour and brightness, the Apple Cinema Displays are very good, but in terms of value a Formac LCD might be better. I'm using a Formac LCD right now and it's just great.

because they're too expensive to produce and profit margin is too low? they can't produce the volume to compete with other manufacturers? there are many reasons that have nothing to do with display quality. lcds have certainly come a long way, mostly in price, but every high-end color corrector i know still uses crt

i bought the dell 24" for home and love it. it is comparable to the apple displays that i have at work.
lcd is so much easier on your eyes. i wouldn't even consider a crt anymore.

Third the Dell 24". Love it. 30" if you want super big - supposed to be better than Apples and costs way less.
I have an older 20" Dell LCD, too, and it's pretty nice. I paid $400 for the 20, $1200 for the 24 (but I've seen them as cheap as $800 with coupons)
