ah, i was in administrator control panel, not the user. that's why my user email wasn't showing up.
- de4k0
skelly, I figured it out.
go to
http://www.yourdomain.com/user/
thenyou MUST login with the full email address of the user account that you are working with.
then choose 'Aliases' then 'Forward' thenenter the relevant address and boom your in.

hey, Nue, how'd you get (mt) to forward to gmail?
when I click forwarding, it just says admin, I can't select certain email addresses to be forwarded. and when I enter my gmail address, nothing happens.
or did you have to do it through mac mail. in which case, wouldn't your computer have to be on to receieve it and then forward it to gmail?
- de4k0
thanx ephix, you rock!!
I may hit you for extra prep ;PRyan, thanks dude.
I hope Oliviia is fit and healthy and she's discovering the world for you all over agaiin!
- ephix0
and then grab this
- ephix0
de4k, sent. to set gmail up with another email address. you gotta set that email address to be a forward/alias to your gmail account. then set it up in your gmail settings as the default account.

i got an invite for you, where should i send it?
- Neuarmy0
I just store everything I might need there as well. It's really good. No one can tell that I'm using Gmail.
ephix
(Mar 7 06, 07:19)Exactly.
You COULD import that mail into the mail app though, but why not keep it all online so that you can access it anywhere, nah mean? I struggled for a while trying to figure out a solution and it pains me to not use mac mail cause that's what i was used to, but I think this is better. Alos, you dload a google alert thingy that chills up in your tool bar and tells you when you have a new message...
- de4k0
thanks ephix.
erm...you wouldn't have a spare invite knocking around?
- ephix0
de4k, correct.
"You are currently using 647 MB (24%) of your 2701 MB."

ahh, so Mail Protect isn't watertight?
de4k
(Mar 7 06, 06:13)Not 100%, but close to it.
- de4k0
so you fellas using gmail don't use the mail.app at all let gmail do the work?
- ephix0
Neuarmy, I do the same, with about 4 different addresses though. It's great!
- de4k0
ahh, so Mail Protect isn't watertight?

I've used it for a month or so and I think it works great. With Mail Protect and a couple of Outlook rules I've reduced the daily spam from 250+ to maybe 10 a day.
If you sign up on it, set it so that you recive the emails that's "Somewhat likely to be junk" but have the Mail Protect "Flag" them - and have an Outlook rule that redirects the flagged emails to your trash bin.

never used it but I find the rules wizard very useful. just enter the domain from where the mail was sent and tell outlook to delete emails from that address. I update every couple of days and leave a copy of the rule on the server for others to use in the building.

i stopped using the squirrelmail interface and stopped importing it through mac mail. I now have all my mail forwarded through gmail and set my "reply-to" and display name to make it seem as though all my mail comes and goes through my neuarmy accounts, but with the benefits of gmail.. and it cost nothing extra.
- de4k0
bump!?
- de4k
Does nyone use Media Temple's spam filter?
Does it work?
is it worth the exta cost?I'm using JunkMatcher and it's just not cutting it..
your help is much appreciated.
