Can anyone have a wee look at this. Some initial sketches for a Translation company's logo who are based in Sweden... hence that's the map of Sweden in the background.... Not a huge phallic monstrosity...
Thanks! Comments, Crits, Much appreciated... is this a decent direction to go in?
Cheers.

i like it.. but what's that huge phallic monstrosity doing in the bg?

i don't know. I'm not familiar with the shape of the swedish territory so when I see the logo I don't think about translation.
But the shape should work in the area.
As to the logo as a whole I think it's still too early to say much.
the "tp" inside the shape looks very lonely. experiment with another typeface.

sorry but the sweden map just doesn't look good, looks chunky and unbalanced.

that's how Sweden looks though... chunky, unbalanced, cock-shaped and with Finland making up the ballsack.

yeah but my point is, if you're gonna simplify the shape you just need to have a concept of doing it. otherwise you should just keep the original shape.

"is this a decent direction to go in?"
I dont think so...
Using Sweden as a visual device isnt working. You've simplified the shape so much that to those outside of sweden it doesnt look like the shape of a country and even if it did, many would not recognise what the shape of sweden looks like.
Try something more simple as a visual device such as using the plus symbol as the counter shape within the letter P. From there try out different appropriate typefaces and colourways.
Also, the swedish flag is similar to a plus sign, surely that's a more interesting direction to head towards?

Sorry, I've seen that typeface in a thousand other logos already. Looks like I've seen it over and over. As far as sweden, looks like a profile of Abe Lincoln.
Too much white spce, the logo floats.

maybe pick a swedish icon of some sort (if there is one)
