i think they are beutiful.
if josh did not make the website - who did?
- ToxicDesign0
Just to be repetitive - The site is SuperBuggy. Menu doesn't work (need to click multiple times). Sticky Scrollbar.
JD, if you didn't produce this website, you should beat whoever did cause it reflects badly (on you), since we all assumed you DID do it.
Yo!

i'm another in agreement with Jevad
always had a deep respect for Josh...not always been a big fan of everything he's done, but thats besides the point...(or maybe it is the point)
the deal is, HE believes in it, he believes in his work, and his positive energy and dedication to it has payed off well...
and ultimately like he said, he can support his family, which is pretty much how i feel about all of this as well...folks, we're all in the same boat here...
we work in design because we love it, because we think it matters, but primarily i think because we all have that little creative spark that says 'i need to do this...i want to make that perfect website/album cover/poster/logo/font...whateve...
thats what drives us...that desire to create...at the end of the day, most people don't get to work fulltime at something they truly love...
most people i know don't...
they live for the weekendshow incredibly lucky we are.
i love what i do, and i wake up every day happy to go to work..
i don't have to be one of those people that always grumbles about work, office etc...fuck it man...i get payed to play all day making cool ass images and logos and websites and print projects ....
everyonce in awhile i guess all of us forget that..just how lucky we are to be doing this...
josh's post just reminded us.
not to sure about his choice of reading material or anything tho.....but i'm biased...i usually just read sci-fi..
;)cheers josh, and everyone else.

actually those were quite good book reccomendations.
i'd like to reccomend a book to mr. davis that may give him some perspective when he's out there pimping his talents.
there is a truely touching part in the book where Bobby Lancaster tells his naive ho, "Don't ever come here without my scratch."

great work josh
glad you get to work on what you love. i too have gotten to do what i really enjoy.
a book recommendation list or delicious bookmark list might be a cool idea...

chz - they really have to see the print at a higher-res in order to see the silouette of the car.

Josh,
I wasn't able to take your class last year. But I am definitely trying to hook into SVA and that class this year.when I stopped coming here everyday I was able to start doing some really cool stuff. Stuff that I love a lot.
If there is one thing that you taught me is that instead of searching for inspiration you are creating it.
Thanks...
Ken

Inspiring stuff, not just from yourself, but form BMW having the eye to do it.

This might be an exessively car-designer point of view, (and I need to look at it some more)... but my first impression is that the key lines and forms of the Z4 aren't expressed in the artwork... (seems like it is using portions of the Z4 sillohuette that are a bit randomly selected and aren't the bits that make the Z4 unique)... and why are the wheels something like from the 40s? (again it isnt expressing a Z4 wheel.. maybe there's some other theme going on there..)... overall think it looks nice..jut not very Z4..

the tires are actually the BMW logo minus the propeller.

I love what I do.
I love my clients
my clients love me.
I love my family.
I love my friends and peers.outside of that... this is all just talk.

Fuck yeah!
Onwards and upwards.

great words and i really like these pieces, once upon a forest was amazing aswell.... are there really 120,000 layers and 50,000 vectors in each print?? good work jd! :)

Josh,
Just curious. I'm in Austin and I know that GSD&M got a huge chunk of the BMW ad contract.
Did the work come to you through them? or another agency? or direct?

if your wondering why JD are getting these huge name clients on his lists, then definitely you were not around when flash was born. if its not for JD and yugop's open source, UI and interactivity's evolution on web wouldnt be this big.
and if you dont know what im saying, then your not in the position to take down anyone.

ivan - Dorten in Stuttgart saw me speak at Graphik Europe in Berlin - and they pitched the idea to BMW.

josh: are you planning any class in sitaly soon...?
- ivan_cook0
