Dear NT,
What happens to search engine placement when the the content changes of a web site while the domain name remains unchanged?
We have pretty good placement currently, and our site drastically needs an overhaul (http://www.laserpointer.net). A well designed site (clean code, site map, content-driven,and proper use of TITLE and ALT tags) is the most important factor. Is there anything else I should know?
Thanks!
Jay

as long as your code remains clean, you should have pretty good keyword density and the content change should not affect your placement. in fact, as i understand it, google rewards content change, as it shows that your site is not static and invites people to come back again and again. in other words, you shouldn't have to worry about content change affecting your search engine placement negatively.
