I own a G5 2.0GHz duallie for work. However I need a laptop to do stuff on the road, to show QT animations to clients and would also use PS and Flash heavily.
Would an iBook running at 1.33GHz+ and 512MB RAM do the trick? Or do I need to look at a PBs?
What are the downsides to iBooks?
Thanks for the help.

the main downside is that the res only goes up to 1024x768 and you cant have split dual monitors

i have a dual g5 at the office and an ibook for home. i like it, havant had any problems. i think the powerbook monitors have a larger sweet spot tho

ibook is junk ..
you can't attach a apple display to them. At least the old 999 model I bought you couldn't.
PB all the way.

I've got an iBook, and i do all my work at home on it. this handly little app lets you connect up a dual display
http://www.rutemoeller.com/mp/ib…i've got a 1.2 ghz, 512 ram and I can run photoshop, indesign and illuestator all at once if i need to. normally jsut have either photoshop and indesign, or dreamweaver and indesign, as well as mail, safari itunes etc and does ok.

i did the same, G5 Dual 2.0 as my work horse, iBook 933Mhz G4 as my portable to show clients work, run the creative suite 2 on it, does great for what i want to do. yeah, the dual monitor thing would be cool, but if you're on the road, that's not going to do much for you, nor if you are meeting with a client.
yeah, a 15 PB would be cool, just depends on what your wallet will let you do. iBook does the trick though.
