Blog Via Email Test Please

I was wondering if you guys could test this little app I wrote. It grabs the contents from an email and dumps it into a table, it then saves all JPEGS to a local dir. I currently have all the code in the same page so when the page loads it scans that mailbox. So send an email, then wait a couple of seconds before testing the link. All emails are deleted once the content gets uploaded.

only the subject appears, not the bodytext i wrote.
my subject was Vormgeversassociatie Hoog-Keppel but the - sign between Hoog and Keppel disappeared.
and the attachement i sent with my email isn't visible.

it posted mine, but the immage is missing. it was a 16x16 gif.
could be that i was sending with Mac Mail, and when you attach an image it put it in the body of the message rather then attach it.

ldw, i attached it using Entourage, didn't work.

I remove all char except Aa - Zz.
The image attachment came over with out an extension that's why it did not show up.

fyi: the file has an extension on my computer.

this time it was called test.jpg
and no bodytext too...
using mac os 10.3 and entourage

can you try again, I removed the delete email, and the MySQL insert. I want to see how the systems see an email from entourage. Can you add the test.jpg and also some copy in the body.

i posted two emails, one from mail client and one from webmail client. both with same image.

sometimes files from mac do not contain the file type as part of the filename and you need to read the file to get the extension. maybe this is the problem?
are you using
mime_content_type ( string filename ); to read the file?

You are reading my mind. I did not read the file it self just the ext. Already started coding this change. Interesting that it saved the gif icon as an ASCII format...
Looks like I have some bugs to fix on this. Thanks guys. I will post again when this is fixed.

I can across this before so I thought I would spread the knowledge, good job you found the bug tho as you might of been able to send in attachments like nastyVirus.exe.jpg to mess with the system.

worked on mail w/ Mail.
but is it supposed to crop the picture?

The image is not really cropped like that. I am just doing that for the blog, so no one send a desktop image. When the page loads I create a cropped image from the original image.

everytime the page is loaded it makes a new cropped image? does it cache them?

It creates the new image, the next time the page load it checks to see if the file exists. If exists don’t create new image.
