Hi,
What do you think about full CSS website ( with div ) ?
Table website are dead ?

You should be converting to CSS based layout, I have been the past few months, its makes live easier in the long run, not more spacer gifs everywhere.
Also makes updating the design that little bit more easier.

Tables aren't dead. You just need to try and use them only when your information is tabular - like a sheet of financial info. They aren't really required to layout a site anymore.

is it ok too use a div layer?

A little prematurely due to css being still in kindergarten stage, but tables for layout are out.
We can only hope css will someday solve a few new problems that didn't exist in table based layouts, like equal height stretching columns

Can you make divs 100% high? And then have your flash or image in the middle? No? So you have to have it anchored to the top of the screen? Are you sure? Oh. Well in that case. Pish. Total pish.

built by first css site this last summer. Everything i'm doing now is CSS. Also if you're familiar with web standards (508 and W3C). CSS is MUCH more compliant than a table driven site.

ah just do it all 100% flash like skt does.
Sorted.

Thats what me clients demands likes.

As I said million times before: css was fathered by nerds who never consulted designers. For them a website was just flow of data, what do you need centering for?
There is hope, change is in the air. People sick of JS being banned from websites rebranded it AJAX and suddenly it's good. Chances are, proper positioning tools will be introduced to. In, like, CSS 8

tables are not dead, they are for tabular data.
And a semantic well-build layout makes manatainance easier and clearer, although the set-up time may be a little longer ('til you become experienced)

I believe so.
If you're after what I think you're after. I'll try and find an example if you want.

The real question is are chairs out, and are stools taking over?
Actually I just read an article that google places table sites higher in rank.

I work in a super corporate environment and i'm not supposed to be using div's for anything due to some people in the company still using older machines and still needing to view the sites.

however if your not looking to support older browsers and just looking to the cutting edge, the only think you'll face is getting it to look right in every browser.
btw.. ie. is pure shit.

(Feb 6 06, 06:09)If they're using browser THAT old they shouldn't even be connected to the internet. It would be a huge security issue. IE5 supports divs quite well, so I guess that decision was made by a cranky IT guy.
