skip it all. AS 4.0 and web 3.75vbeta3
- version30
web 2.0 should prevail if everyone pays attention to the new ajax hotness
- imakedesign0
room for both, ajax suffers from the same problems as flash, bookmarking, deeplinking, browser back button...

I don't see any problem bookmarking and deep linking flash

wow! how did you (if it is your site) do that??

Eeerm.. long version, or short one?
I'm using JS location.hash property in this one. I also worked on a version that supported back/forward buttons, but there were just too many browser differences and I wasn't sure I could detect future browsers. I didn't want something that would stop working one day because of that.

yeah linking's been worked out... check out yahoo maps... all flash and can send direct links via any location at any zoom level

While I worked on this revolutionary method, Kevin Lynch published this:
http://www.klynch.com/apps/flash…I still would like to know how they did back button in yahoo maps.. works pretty smooth

thanks!
"But IE has this unique bug (MS probably calls it a "security enhancement") that even though the URL visibly changes when you navigate back and forth the location.hash property in JavaScript does not."
It's funny to see people treading the same path simultaneously..
A brief look tells me they didn't really succeed, hence my interest in the yahoo maps solution, which seems to work very nicely.
