    Hello folks,

I've always been an in-house designer but just got this possibility of a gig freelancing for updates on a site...(HTML updates, CSS work and image re-touching and updates). anyone knows about the average fee for this?

$500 a day??? epill..... can you send me some of YOUR clients...??

$65 an hour yeah...but they aint gonna go for the $500 a day.. just charge them a weekly maintenance fee with a minimum monthly contract.... ask them how often they will change the site..multiply that by 3.... then estimate the amount of hours it will take you...then multiply by 2... then multiply by hourly.... then you have an estimate...

Sign a retainer that they are guaranteed a certain amount of hours per month from you... and you are guaranteed a monthly guaranteed payment.... if you come under those hours you still get paid but those hours up to a certain point are then moved to the following month...

and make sure the retainer is at least a 6 month - 1yr contract....or 3 month trial..so then if they are ass hats you can leave them as well...

    Example 1:
you give them 40 hours per month for 2k...

they only use 20 hours... you still get 2k...but 50% of the unused hours get moved over to the next month...

so the following month they could get 50 hours of work from you without paying extra...

example 2: if you are getting paid 2k for 40 hours...and then you end up working 60 hours...you charge half for the extra 20 hours... so it would be 3k ....
