it's only a matter of time before it spreads and other people say
"heeeeyy... that's a good idea" and while we're at it, why don't we rename Kevin Federline "Mohatmat Al Douchebag"
- KuzIV0
only the shrewd Iranians have taken the step to rename the pastries in an attempt to heighten tensions and deflect attention from their nuclear programme.

"we detest your country so! We will rename a deliecious pastry from your ancestral land in honour of our prophet... we will not stop eating it, no no, merely rename it."
seriously kids. go back to throwing stones.
that shit's as ridiculous as freedom fries.

I love Kona's collective use of the term "Muslims".
Product of a simple mind.

(Feb 9 06, 07:33)Sorry. Radical Muslims. Is that better? When BBC is reporting riots in Afghanistan, Syria, Iran, Iraq, the West Bank and a few oter places, and saying half a million people at one protest I guess I'm the one who misspoke.
Mimio. Shoot. I was typing as you posted that. My bad.

Well if the story was true I find myself thrown even more into a state of WTF.
So they rename a Danish pastry in the name of their God... a Muhammadon (name pending). So it's not ok to depict their prophet in a cartoon, but they can turn him into a Danish, dip his head into a steaming cup of coffee, bite him in half, eat him, digest him, then shit him out of their assholes a few hours later. THAT is somehow ok?!?
That's why I'm in a state of WTF if this is true.
So any help?

Has anyone heard of the story that muslims are now changing the name of their Danish muffins maybe (something along those lines) to Muhammadons or something. I heard it for a brief second on the news this morning but I haven't seen it anywhere else.

Well I'm not exactly sure that was the name of them. If it wasn't that exact name it was something pretty close.

Pyeaeton:
I agree with a lot of that. There are many corrupt governments that abuse their people's freedoms all the time, who don't have a whiff of any religion. Look at China, North Korea, Zimbabwe and countless others. It basically comes down to money in the end. We only stick our size 12s in when we think we can financially gain. If a nation lets terrorists happily develop their networks in their own backyard, we happily ignore it. Until it suits us.

Great point. The proof is in the pudding I guess. Funny, if there was an uprising against the Syrian govt, do you think the govt wouldn't send more troops and security forces to put an end to the violence? Of course they would. But, this is a great way to gel the population together to have easier control of their own regimes. If one is able to seperate themselves from the gross actions taking place over there, we would realize that this is how they keep power. I mean look at the Saudi royals. They run around the world getting strippers and hookers, drinking, eating, spenmding billions on themselves. Not a good example of what Islam considers a devout muslim. But, they allow wahabiism (the techings of extreme Islam....bin laden shit) to quell the fires of unrest. The population is poor and un educated, and therefore vulnerable to these nuts. The royals let em have their fun to stay in power. Big problem for the royals there.
It is an extreme, VERY extreme version of how American political parties use demographics to get their votes. Repubs go with the bible belt, and Dems go with educated (sometimes eccentric) coast dwelling people. I am not trying to knock anyone with that, but it is the truth.
until the countries drop the muslim nation muslim law crap, this will continue.

I think the problem is we expect Muslims to speak for all other Muslims. If I was a Christian, I certainly wouldn't want to have to justify/condemn the actions of pro-lifers, or evangelical gay bashers. The media makes this an 'us' v 'them' battle.
I don't have a religious bone in my body, but I understand it as something that still does a lot more good than harm. Corrupt, manipulitive governments will always use peoples emotions and beliefs to get them to do what they want. Some of the biggest examples of Government brainwashing that happened in the last century had nothing to do with religion but used the same techniques. I see a lot of similarities between Hitler's Nazism and religious fundamentalism.

"votes" and "backing"....
they new dirtiest words in the english languageIt's sad that people are pawns aiding in furthering political agendas which are purported to "help" the same people they exterminate.

pyeaton has a good point...
if you run a facist state, it helps to have a scapegoat to unite the people against. ...before they unite against you.
