Can anyone point me to some good resources, either online or books, for AJAX. I need to familiarize myself with the technology and don't know where to begin.
...and yes, I did a search here and only saw witty, if unhelpful, responses to a similar question.

monkeyshine: O'Reilly has a new book coming out entitled, "Ajax Hacks" by Bruce Perry.
You can buy it before it hits bookshelves or something with their "Rough Cuts" package...
Also, Wikipedia has some helpful links:

And as for the witty, and totally unhelpful response that I usually give, here is the actual Wikipedia link:

Ever get stuck with ajax you should email / post on his site and he responds real quick.
Javascript is something you need to be really good at for AJAX. You need a good understanding of DOM structures with javascript, which helps alot.

Asynchronous JavaScript And XML, or its acronym Ajax, is a Web development technique for creating interactive web applications. The intent is to shift a great deal of interaction to the Web surfer's computer, exchanging data with the server behind the scenes, so that the entire Web page does not have to be reloaded each time the user makes a change. This is meant to increase the Web page's interactivity, speed, and usability.
