What do you guys do when you find yourself sphincter-deep in a design and realize you hate it?
And how often does this happen? Is it natural? Is it pop eating itself?
Discuss/share.

its natural
if a designer thinks that they are doing all good work than they wont improve

the worst is if it's a sign or logo or something that hangs around for a while

just add as much white space as possible.

You thought the logo looked fine at THAT size ...didn't you?

First of all, you can prevent that by getting an actual design education.
That doesn't always work however, in which case you make sure you send your initial concepts to enough knowledgeable designers so they can give you an honest opinion. Non-designers always help too.
Then there's the typical problem that many clients today, especially American, just want big, bright, first-thing-that-comes-to-mind solutions. Then you do it, get paid, and can't add it to your portfolio.
Just make sure you do SOME stuff that you're proud of, took time on, and gets respect from other designers.

collect the cheque, and then drown your remorse in single malt
