i'm thought i could import vectors from illustrator and create a font set using fontographer, it doesn't appear like its possible to import them unrastered.
is there another program i can use to work this way?
sorry it's a dumb question but i haven't designed a font before.
thanks

You can copy paste them. However, the one time I tried, my characters got screwed up because the points cant always be in the same place in fontographer as they can in illustrator. THat might not make sense now, but if you try, you might see what Im talking about

If you are using Fontographer in Mac OS Classic you need to copy and place via Illustrator 8 or import the vectors as an eps.
The new Mac OS X version of Fontographer supports copy and pasting from all versions of Illustrator.

Quick question...
Where would one find a copy of the new Mac OS X Fontographer?
Every time I went looking for it a while back all I was finding were PC versions at exorbitant prices...

You can get Fontographer for Mac OS X at the Fontlab website...

you can copy and paste. i do that for all my fonts. just go into your illustrator preferences and go to the clipboard settings - turn off the pdf support and check "preserve paths". bingo. works perfect.
