apple store in soho
where are you staying?
- mattyd0
check out the statue of liberty, the empire state building and central park!
- groog0
stay out of any electronics store besides
http://www.bhphotovideo.com
and
http://www.jr.com/they'll see your tourist ass coming a mile away and start packing bricks in boxes!
Coney Island is fun in warm weather, but I think they close up the amusement park in the winter. Cyclone rollercoaster is mad ride.
Go downtown, see Ground Zero and Wall Street, even though there's nothing really to do there

It's actually not that cold right now. Central Park is great. Other landmarks are well...whatever.
I reccomend Birdland and Blue Note Jazz Clubs. Blue Note is a little more $$ if you know what I mean.

so if I go to the NY apple store and get a new 60g ipod will I just pay $399 or will there be tax to pay on top of that? If so, does anyone know how that will bump up the cost.
- ldww0
yes tax. and it is 8.325 i think.
- epill_0
NYC tax is an added 48% city tax + 18.8% tourists tax + 25.5% commuters tax + annoying tourist accent tax + Apple Store NYC tax as rent for store is $1million per month [soho]
come out to the NT nYC meetups!!
- Wolfboy0
Thanks for all that and tehgee, I a staying in Midtown, pretty close to the empire state building.

there's is this restaurant called "country" which i and my gf love a lot. it's on madison and 31st.
there are many new restaurants by iron chefs opening up on 10th ave and around 15-17th street. there are just so many good places and i can't name it all.
as far as ipod goes, why not order online? don't get sucked into one of those electronic shops arount times square. most of them aren't reliable.
as far as jazz goes, i love Village Vangard, i mean that's THE legendary place. it's a hit or miss depends on who's playing.
whatelse... moma, met, whitney, cooper hewitt, all the usual museums...

come out to the NT nYC meetups!!
