honestly, Im half kidding. go work in a meat packing plant for a week and then look at your monitor. you will find that it is quite pleasurable, considering.

well, I'm sure a bit of eyestrain beats losing a finger or something, but i want to know how to FIX it.
I though LCDs were supposed to be easier on the eyes?

I think your sitting too close. I used to get eye strain from my crt because it wasnt as sharp as the LCD. Is it a cheapy?

yeah, it's pretty cheap..
Viewsonic VA912bas for too close, it's right next to my CRT, so it's a distance I'm comfortable with.

what's your screen resolution? You should set it to the highest refresh rate frequency if poss.

1280x1024 LCD (or maybe it's the DVI connector) only supports 60hz... not supposed to make a difference on flat panels, but I'm gonna give the d-sub a try.
(crt is at 85hz btw)

Mine is a 19" set at 1280x1024 @ 60htz and is fine. Is it in a dark room or have you got a window behind/next to it?
I used to get headaches from constantly focusing my eyes from outside in the distance to the monitor when I had the blinds open.

hmm. I switched it over to the analogue connector and it SEEMS better... maybe my DVI port is messed up... I'll have to give it a shot like this.

yeah mine is running off the analogue connector too.
