actually right, but I know you're relgious and although Uniformitarianism holds true on a certain level with Creationists, it tends to contradict Catastrophism right? ehhh or maybe not, it can go along side it..

no this isn't the link... it was just facts about some tree that was found to be dated at around 1,000 years old lying between rock that was dated at being 150 Million years old.

see I would have a perfect amount of respect for your position and beliefs if you were more consistent in their aplication and you didn't see mindlessly poo-pooing the vast majority of scientific reasoning and knowledge as evidence. Your views, imo, are backward and dangerous and our only future is indeed as compost if your people win.

Do you think humans are so important that "Something" decided to create an entire universe (most of which we can't even abuse) just for little-old-us?

it's the fact that people are applying long overdue scrutiny to Darwinism that it's coming up short. That's what this whole issue is about. Quite the opposite, mimio. If one actually takes the time to study the claims of ID, rather than regurgitate political rhetoric based in emotion, one will inevitably question and doubt NeoDarwinism.

So you work in "apologetics" (a word I never even knew existed until a few minutes ago), your name is/was discipler, you are a born-again christian, you believe in an intelligent designer wholeheartedly, no question about it and we are to believe that you have no religious bend to your arguments?

many massive extinctions or a great extinction, really has nothing to do with this and in fact would suggest that Uniformitarianism isn't correct and Catastrophism ruled the planet, which in turn supports Creationist thought.

And the real funny thing is - science and the scientific method does nothing to rule out spiritual origins or a god - to say "A spiritual entity created the universe" is not against scientific thought.
However, literalist who interpret a single book - the bible - one of thousands the human race as a species has produced as part of it's spiritual expression - find science disagrees with their interpretation of that one particular text, so therefore like everything else in that narrow view of that particular religion they need to attack and co-opt it as they have done for 2,000 odd years.
Well that sort of crumedgeonly behavior has probably kept that religion around - you know, alwyas creating drama attracts people. It's also bullshit, but you know that way you get all the ignorant people and you then point at the smart people and say that they're ignorant. It's a neat system really...

If you are having an argument with some "enemy", try to reword his position in a way that would make it at least palatable to you. Then invite him to do the same thing with your position. You won't appreciate the dispute-melting magic in that until you try it a few times.
The trouble, of course, is that such an approach is unlikely to produce winners and losers, and we've come to think that producing winners and losers is the essence not just of politics but also of life.

thank fuck it's not the bordello. i depend upon that income.

...and many of the scientific community who have examined ID are closet ID proponents because they fear career repercussions if they dissent from the Darwinian establishment.
