hey guys.
i'm in seattle with my girlfriend until tomorrow and was wondering what we could do today.
we would be interested in doing or seeing something that we wouldnt be able to see or do in EVERY city.
Some people have already recommended that we do the underground tour and visit the open market.
any more suggestions?
no restaurants or bars/clubs please.
thanks.

Gas Works park is cool, walk around Broadway on capital hill, or around belltown. Believe it or not, the EMP is really cool.

If you guys have a car you might like walking around Fremont. If you take the Viaduct (our little double-decker freeway that's destined to fall at any moment) North about 10 minutes you'll cross a huge bridge that goes over lake Union. Take the first exit after the bridge and follow it right (there may be some construction) then take any street that heads immediately south. Follow that until it ends and then get yourself under the bridge to the west side. Ta da, you're in Fremont. Lots of fun little shops and plenty to eat.

get out there, and explore! there aren't many "sights" to see in Seattle...but we do have a lot of good shops, restaurants, and cafes.
the Capital Hill and Belltown neighborhoods have already been mentioned...check out fremont, too.

oh yeah, STAY OUT OF PIONEER SQUARE! it sucks!

Well, Pioneer Square isn't too bad during the day. Just stay away at night.
If you're right downtown, i'd get yourself to Pine street and walk east. Go over I-5 and you'll come to Melrose Ave. Right there on the corner is Bauhaus Books & Coffee. Great atmosphere and a great view of the Needle. Unfortunately you caught us on a bad rain day so the outdoor seating is a bit too wet. Grab a tall chair at the window instead and watch the passersby.

go on the "death tour"...
You can see Jimmy Hendrix's grave then go to Bruce Lees tomb stone and finish off by going to Kurdt Cobains park bench.
