what's your prefered technique for PS masking/ clipping paths?
i generally just work it with PS selection tools and feathers... would anyone recommend one of the 3rd party plugins?

i use a combination ot the path toool/bezier pen and masking brushes... I have a set of brushes specifically for masking and drop shadows... you can also dupe channels and nuke what you don't need i usually dupe channels for fringy hair... when my company gets really loaded with a lot of masking work we just upload our files to india and we get multichannel psd's back containing the masks they can usually turn around 100 images and 24 hours and they mask everything flesh, dresses, jewelery... we used to send them to china but they wanted too much so now we send to india... i think it works out to 5 bucks a mask but we have a bulk contract... It's sad really just one more step closer to outsourcing....

sounds like you're far more organized than me.. what kind of brush settings do you save in a specific mask & shadow set?

i just dupe channels like dude said
adjust the curves and paint out whatever you don't want
only takes a couple minutes for most things
we do a LOT of masking in entertainment

yeah.. pretty much the same technique here.
but i generally don't have to do batches of it. was wondering if anyone actually uses Mask Pro etc, but maybe not.

i use extract as well but also clipping paths and the selection tools it really depends on what the image is and what i need the end result to look like
