hey... I've got an after effects problem and I'm not sure what the issue is. I'm animating 3 shapes... all as 3d layers... doing some simple 3d rotations. As it stands the layers are stacked in the right order, but for some reason it doesn't appear that way in the comp.... that is until the animation is complete... which creates an unwanted effect... anybody know why this might be?

do you have items parented to other animated objects that you are unaware of?

I doulbe checked.. just so I wasn't talking out of my ass but no.... Its actually the most mundane simple little 3d rotation of 3 arrows... and I have no idea why it would do this.

I hate to double bump... but i'm desparate... anybody seen this before?

Are you using the simple 3D engine or the Advanced? You don't say what the undesirable effect is.

try to change your Active Camera to Front.
Active camera always give you a sort of spherical look if use threedee.
Other way is to show us a example.

I've had this problem before, the best way to get round it is to put each of your elements in separate comps, dump these three new comps into one. You should now be able to position them without problems. hope this makes sense...

Also check how your objects are placed in their respective X,Y, and Z positioning. Even though they are stacked how you want in the layers, positioning can make them look otherwise.
