you don't see divinity then
- Mimio0
Not in the sum total of human actions to date.

its Jeebus... not Jesus.

whether or not you think the Bible is fiction or not... if you read it and study it - the one and only conclusion you will come to after logical reasoning and cross-referencing scriptures is that God (Yahweh or Jehovah in english... jehova in spanish... whatever language you pronounce it in) and HIS SON, Jesus are two separate beings - unlinked in no physical fashion what-so-ever.

- unlinked in no physical fashion what-so-ever. ?
God is not over there somewhere, it is life itself, you live and breath God. You're God. Jesus was a man who put the human face to this amazing and huge force, before him there were many God's and were often seen as kings and emporors

I don't knowPony...I think the New Testament. authors did a pretty good job of retro-fitting Jesus into the "prophesied Messiah" of the Old Testament. The very structure of the Gospels basically plays out as a list of scriptural qualifications.

---dude... i'm talking about WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS...
argue your theories all day along about who wrote it -but don't argue that God is everywhere and God is life if you're trying to argue USING the Bible... because you're way off. The Bible specifically states that God is one being - supreme to all of us and every creature both on Earth and in Heaven... AND all of these creatures mentioned above ARE HIS creations.
If you don't like that... then don't read the Bible. But if you're going to argue anything Biblical - you should probably read it first.

i'm not totally learned on these matters but i do know that Paul, the guy who wrote a lot of the bible, is often seen as someone who got Jesus and his life and philosophy mixed up in scripture. he religionized Jesus the man so to speak
- wadafa0
you're saying by definition in context of The Bible then God is absolute and unique to itself?
y/n ?

(Dec 4 05, 18:20)wadafa... Paul used to be Saul... a man who very much hated Christianity... but came to know Jesus - after Jesus' death he went on to preach and help organize some of the first congregations of Christianity.
His scriptures are mainly letters to those congregations that only exalted Jesus and his Father... but in no way 'relgionized' anything... that was God's doing by use of his son.
And Paul didn't write alot of the Bible either. Don't forget about the other 10 faithful apostles who also penned plenty of letters to congregations or like-believers of the time... some of those letters were historical reminders of on what happens when you don't live under God's law... some of the letters contained simple encouragement...
... seriously... just READ it... or don't argue it. It's like arguing actionscript w/an accountant... there's absolutely no base of knowledge.
- wadafa0
well you basically just supported what I said, it's like religionizing a man and his message...God did not put Jesus on earth with Christianity, he was a Jew and a teacher

" there is no god but god, and mohamed is his prophet. "
at least islam maintains the absolute monotheism of its roots in judaism.
but in reality the dudes who wrote the bible did such goofy ass things as assume the world is flat.
so, take it for what it is, a self contradicting mess that generally reflects the fears and hopes of those that penned it.

(Dec 4 05, 18:26)yes... I'll use the Bible's text to prove this.
Jesus tells us this at John 8:42 - "Jesus said to them: “If God were YOUR Father, YOU would love me, for from God I came forth and am here. Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth."
Jesus in a coversation w/Judas (not iscariot) answered a question regarding why Jesus showed his apostles his power...and more importantly... why he was to die. His answer: "YOU heard that I said to YOU, I am going away and I am coming [back] to YOU. If YOU loved me, YOU would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am."
Let's break that down... his leaving and coming back (if you cross-reference additional scripture) is in reference to his physical death... and his spiritual return to Heaven... and that is all a GOOD thing... because it's the will of HIS FATHER... not him.
very simple... I can keep going over and over again w/Jesus talking to someone about HIS FATHER and doing what his Father requests of him.
If you read the just the Gospels... you'll find the same account of Jesus' life written from the observations of 4 men. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. You'll find that each account is definetly written from a different perspective... but the stories are the same...
... with one KEY similarity - Jesus states his is God's Son and makes it more than clear that he's not God... nor is he equal. He's there for two purposes - teach and die.

dude, christianity is so three centuries ago...
islam is the presnt and future.

(Dec 4 05, 18:37)wadafa.... ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE... Jesus is God's creation... he is his Son. The bible states so clearly so many times...
... you're wrong... i'm sorry - you're not using scripture to support your beliefs. The belief in Jesus COMES FROM THE BIBLE... so that's your source of info...
... not someone else's book or opinion.
Use the Bible to argue your point if you're going to argue anything Christian... or don't bother.
Pavlov... in response to your last post...
.. you too do not have a very thorough knowledge of the Bible... no where does the Bible TEACH that the world is flat...
...as a matter of fact... the books "Voyages of discovery," according to The World Book Encyclopedia, "showed that the world was round, not flat as most people had believed." But the Bible was correct all along... More than 2,000 years before those voyages, the Bible said at Isaiah 40:22: "There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth," or as other translations say, "the globe of the earth" (Douay), "the round earth." (Moffatt)
That's from the Old Testament too... just in case you wanted to battle the New Testament as being false.

too true dog...i'd also say that Muhammad spoke of many prophets and included Jesus as one. In my mind if Jesus was God's son then they'd all get on the boat and enliven the brotherhood of humanity that is a reality
