you know you define a link style with
a:link {
color: #D22224;
text-decoration: none;
}how do you create more than one link style and apply it to different links?

when you have yr content in a div you can then redfined the a tag within the div so.
a:hover{
/* this is for general links anywhere in the page*/}
#content a:hover{
/* this style only applies to hover on a tags within the div with id content*/
}

you don't get to apply a:link, its done auto, so how would you apply a.foo:link to a link?

You are using a 'simple' selector, eg 'p {display;block}'. Basically you're ‘restyling’ html elements, that’s why it’s automatic. Classes and IDs allow multiple style rules on html elements ‘p.foo’ ‘p.#foo’ ‘p.foo02’ ‘p.#foo02’ etc. ‘a.foo:link’ is what’s known as a pseudo class, in answer to your question create a class called ‘a.foo’ then the psudo classes ‘a.foo:link’ ‘a.foo:hover’ etc.
